A Stay at The Royal Hawaiian: Hawaii’s Timeless Pink Palace

From the moment I pulled into the roundabout driveway, I knew I was stepping into something iconic.

From the moment I pulled into the roundabout driveway, I knew I was stepping into something iconic. The Royal Hawaiian Hotel, affectionately known as the Pink Palace of the Pacific, is more than a place to stay — it’s a piece of Hawaiian history wrapped in pink stucco and ocean breeze.

The classic bellmen in their crisp uniforms greeted me with a warmth that set the tone for the entire visit. And then came the grand entrance — an arched, open-air lobby that immediately transports you to a more glamorous era. There’s something incredibly elegant about how the space is preserved. It doesn’t try to modernize too much — and that’s what makes it magic.

I was lucky enough to stay on the 15th floor, where the views of Waikiki Beach stretched endlessly, framed by the palms and rolling waves. Each morning I’d wake early (jetlag again doing me a favor), step onto the balcony, and catch surfers gliding into the sunrise. It was the kind of moment that makes you pause — simple, quiet, unforgettable.

The room itself was a thoughtful blend of historic charm and tropical refinement — soft pink accents, traditional wood furniture, and subtle touches that nodded to the hotel’s rich legacy while still feeling fresh and elevated.

Mornings started with coffee and pastries from the on-site bakery, a hidden gem tucked near the lobby. I loved grabbing something flaky and sweet before my morning beach walk — simple pleasures done exceptionally well.

Evenings, of course, called for a visit to the Mai Tai Bar — home of the original mai tai. Watching the sun dip behind Diamond Head, mai tai in hand, is one of those pinch-me moments. And if you’re feeling adventurous, try a few of their mai tai variations — the lilikoi one was a standout.

Breakfast at Azure was another highlight — particularly the pink pancakes, as pretty as they were delicious. It’s hard not to lean into the Pink Palace energy when everything from the walls to your plate matches the aesthetic.

One of the best parts about staying here is the effortless access to Waikiki’s main strip. Shops, restaurants, and nightlife are just steps away — yet somehow, once you pass back through those arched pink hallways, it all feels a world away.

The Royal Hawaiian isn’t just a hotel. It’s a memory-maker. A glamorous, palm-framed portal into another time — with just the right amount of modern sparkle. I already find myself dreaming of returning.

Inside Mauna Lani: A Luxury Escape on the Big Island of Hawaii

There are places that feel like vacations, and then there are places that feel like restoration.

There are places that feel like vacations, and then there are places that feel like restoration. Mauna Lani Resort, tucked along the sun-soaked Kohala Coast of Hawai‘i’s Big Island, is the latter — a retreat that blends understated elegance with island soul in the most effortless way.

From the moment I walked into my room, I felt wrapped in serenity. The design is a masterclass in balance — clean and modern with natural beach elements woven throughout: organic textures, warm woods, and subtle coastal tones. It’s luxurious without trying too hard. The balcony was my favorite part — wide open to the sky and sea, offering uninterrupted views of the sunset every evening. And as someone who rarely sees the sunrise, I surprised myself by catching every single one (let’s call it jetlag with a silver lining).

Dining at Mauna Lani is an experience all its own. CanoeHouse was the standout — a sunset-lit dream with dishes that were almost too beautiful to eat. I’m still thinking about the A5 Wagyu with garlic soy butter and the local kampachi crudo. At HaLani, the Big Island Benedict — topped with kalua pork and lomi tomato — was a morning favorite, paired with strong Kona coffee and ocean breezes. Every meal felt like a slow indulgence — something I’ve learned is a luxury in itself.

What made the stay exceptional, though, was the staff. From the front desk to poolside service, every interaction was warm, thoughtful, and deeply genuine. It’s the kind of hospitality that doesn’t just meet expectations — it leaves an impression.

Much of this excellence is thanks to the resort’s extensive renovation, which completely reimagined the property in recent years. And it shows. The refreshed design respects Hawaiian heritage while embracing modern luxury — the perfect harmony of past and present.

The poolside lounging? Immaculate. Plush daybeds, swaying palms, and an easy rhythm that made me slow down without even trying. I truly felt like I exhaled for the first time in months.

Mauna Lani gave me a version of vacation I haven’t had in a long time — one where I actually relaxed. It was grounding, luxurious, and just what I needed. I already have another trip planned later this year, and I truly can’t wait to return.

Inside Moskito Island: Ultra-Luxury in the Heart of the Caribbean

I’ve stayed in some beautiful places — but nothing prepared me for The Oasis Estate on Moskito Island.

I’ve stayed in some beautiful places — but nothing prepared me for The Oasis Estate on Moskito Island. From the second I stepped off the boat and caught my first glimpse of the estate perched high above the sea, I knew this was going to be something unforgettable.

The views alone were next-level. The estate sits at the highest point on the island, so you’re surrounded by panoramic Caribbean vistas in every direction. Whether I was floating in the wraparound infinity pool or just waking up in the morning, it felt like the ocean was everywhere — glowing turquoise water, lush green islands in the distance, and golden light at every hour.

The design of the estate is stunning — sleek and modern, but still warm and relaxed. Glass walls open onto massive terraces, and every space flows effortlessly from indoor to outdoor. The infinity pool wraps around the estate like it’s part of the architecture, complete with a waterfall and a swim-up bar that quickly became a favorite spot for afternoon cocktails.

Each of the 13 guest suites felt private and luxurious, with open-air showers, soft lighting, and terraces that looked out over the sea. The layout made it easy to have quiet moments to yourself, but also to come together — whether it was for dinner, drinks, or a late-night hang by the fire pit.

What really stood out, though, was the incredible staff. Carrie, the estate manager, and her team made everything feel seamless. From setting up spontaneous cocktail hours to tailoring our meals exactly how we liked them, they went above and beyond — but always in a way that felt thoughtful and natural, never overdone.

And the food — every single meal was its own moment. Whether we were dining poolside, on the beach, or in the gorgeous open-concept kitchen, it felt curated and personal. Everything was fresh, beautifully plated, and made to match our tastes — and always with the most perfect backdrop.

Evenings were pure magic. We’d head up to the SkyBar rooftop for sunset drinks, and the views up there were unreal. There’s even a telescope if you feel like stargazing after dark — and honestly, between that and the glowing fire pit, we ended up spending most nights up there soaking in the peace of it all.

The Oasis Estate gave me something rare — the chance to completely unplug, reset, and feel surrounded by beauty at every turn. It’s more than a luxury stay — it’s a full-body exhale. I left feeling lighter, clearer, and already dreaming of going back.

Staying at Hotel Xcaret México: All-Inclusive Elegance in the Heart of Nature

Tucked into the lush, emerald heart of the Riviera Maya, Hotel Xcaret México is more than just a resort — it’s a fully immersive experience where nature, culture, and luxury intertwine.

Tucked into the lush, emerald heart of the Riviera Maya, Hotel Xcaret México is more than just a resort — it’s a fully immersive experience where nature, culture, and luxury intertwine. From the moment I arrived, I felt transported — not just to a new destination, but into a beautifully designed world of its own.

I stayed in the Fuego building, the adults-only section of the resort — a secluded sanctuary within the larger property. Fuego guests have exclusive access to their own rooftop pool with sweeping jungle and ocean views, and a private restaurant that adds another layer of intimacy and calm to the experience. It’s quiet, elevated, and undeniably indulgent.

Dining across the property is a journey in itself, but one of the standouts for me was Bio — a plant-forward restaurant nestled into a natural cave setting. It’s unlike anywhere I’ve ever eaten. I ordered the pancakes (twice) — fluffy, lightly sweet, and beautifully plated. The setting, the flavors, and the peaceful ambiance made it a favorite breakfast spot.

For dinner, I fell in love with the lively atmosphere at Cantina Los Faroles. Between the mezcal cocktails and the glowing lamp fixture-lined ceilings, it felt like a true celebration of Mexican culture and design. The energy was vibrant, the food was rich and flavorful, and the service was impeccable.

And then there’s Sunday brunch at Las Cuevas — an event in and of itself. Set in a dramatic cave setting with multiple food stations, live music, and seemingly endless options, it was easily one of the most memorable brunches I’ve ever had. From fresh ceviche to made-to-order chilaquiles and a fully loaded dessert bar, I left both full and fully impressed.

When it came time to unwind, I booked a treatment at the spa — and it turned out to be one of the best massages I’ve ever had. The therapist was intuitive and incredibly skilled, and the entire experience was elevated by the hydrotherapy circuit — hot and cold plunges, a sauna, steam room, and a jet pool that melted every bit of tension away.

Pool days at Xcaret are a mood of their own. Whether I wanted a lazy float under palm trees or a more social, high-energy vibe, there was a space (and soundtrack) for it. I loved that you could curate the day based on your mood — peaceful one moment, playful the next.

And the entertainment? Absolutely stunning. From traditional Mexican performances to live music and theatrical shows, every evening felt like a celebration. It wasn’t background noise — it was a highlight.

Hotel Xcaret México gave me the best of all worlds — natural beauty, intentional design, rich cultural experiences, and unapologetic luxury. It’s the kind of place that’s hard to describe in just one post… and even harder to leave.

This adults-only, all-inclusive resort is where luxury meets laid-back Caribbean charm — and from the moment I arrived, I knew I was in for something special.

Tucked into the vibrant coast of Maho Bay, the adults-only, all-inclusive Royal Sonesta Ocean Point offers a refined Caribbean escape designed exclusively for grown-up indulgence. From the moment I arrived, it was clear this wasn’t just a vacation — it was an elevated retreat where relaxation and sophistication take center stage, free from the bustle of family crowds.

The welcome set the tone immediately: a chilled cocktail at check-in and genuinely warm hospitality that felt tailored to an adult guest experience. Everything about the resort is designed to encourage you to slow down, unwind, and savor the moment.

My top-floor suite was a sanctuary — bright, modern, and expansive, with sweeping ocean views and elegant touches throughout. The personalized butler service elevated the experience even more. From booking restaurant reservations to delivering a perfectly timed cocktail to my balcony, it was thoughtful without being overbearing — exactly the kind of intuitive service that makes a stay feel special.

Dining at the resort felt like a celebration. Azul Restaurant stood out not just for its artfully presented dishes and fresh, island-inspired flavors, but for the way the staff made every guest feel seen and cared for. The quiet luxury of adult-only dining — unhurried, attentive, and peaceful — added so much to the overall experience.

A standout moment was my massage in the open-air spa cabana. Surrounded by the rhythmic sounds of the ocean and warm island breeze, it was a serene, soul-soothing experience that reminded me exactly why adults-only resorts can be so rejuvenating.

Royal Sonesta Ocean Point is what I now think of as the ideal adults-only escape — luxurious, serene, and thoughtfully curated for travelers seeking calm, connection, and care. I left refreshed, sun-kissed, and already planning my return.

Mission Pacific Beach Resort: Coastal Luxury in Oceanside, California

Tucked along the sun-drenched coast of Oceanside, California, Mission Pacific Beach Resort is a perfect blend of modern design, relaxed luxury, and unbeatable ocean views.

Tucked along the sun-drenched coast of Oceanside, California, Mission Pacific Beach Resort is a perfect blend of modern design, relaxed luxury, and unbeatable ocean views. As part of the Hyatt collection, it brings a polished experience without ever losing that laid-back Southern California charm.

The rooms are airy, minimal, and beautifully styled — think clean lines, soft natural tones, and floor-to-ceiling windows that let the Pacific Ocean do all the talking. Waking up just steps from the beach, with the sound of waves and salty air filling the space, felt like a reset in all the right ways.

One of the major highlights of my stay was spending time at the Rooftop Bar, which sits high above Oceanside and offers the best sunset views in North County San Diego. It’s stylish without trying too hard — the perfect place to unwind with a cocktail, watch the sky shift from blue to gold, and take in panoramic views of the coastline.

The menu at the Rooftop was a standout — creative, coastal, and full of bold flavors. I ordered the Harissa Chicken Sando, and it did not disappoint. Perfectly crispy and spiced with just the right kick, it was served with golden patatas that had a light crisp and deep flavor — no basic fries here. The entire dish was elevated, satisfying, and ideal for a golden hour bite.

The service throughout the resort — from check-in to rooftop drinks — was warm and attentive, striking that perfect balance of professional and personable. Every space felt intentional, from the coastal-inspired decor to the flow between indoor and outdoor lounging areas.

Whether you're looking for a weekend reset, a romantic escape, or just an excuse to soak in the SoCal sun, Mission Pacific delivers. It’s the kind of place that leaves you already planning your return before check-out.

French Daze & Ibiza Nights: Inside My Virgin Voyages Mediterranean Cruise

I never thought I’d say this — but I’m a cruise person now. And I have Virgin Voyages to thank for that.

I never thought I’d say this — but I’m a cruise person now. And I have Virgin Voyages to thank for that.

Earlier this year, I had the incredible opportunity to sail the French Daze & Ibiza Nights itinerary aboard Scarlet Lady, departing from Barcelona on a special Celebration Voyage with Richard Branson himself onboard. It was bold, playful, luxurious — everything you wish cruising could be.

And the icing on the cake? I was upgraded to a Mega Rockstar Suite. Specifically, the FAB Suite — and yes, it was just as over-the-top fabulous as the name suggests. Floor-to-ceiling ocean views, a record player with curated vinyl, a stocked bar, and even a private terrace with a hot tub. It felt more like a five-star boutique hotel at sea than anything I ever expected from a cruise.

Onboard, the adults-only atmosphere made a huge difference. No kids, no chaos — just curated fun, elegant design, and spaces that actually let you relax. Whether I was sipping champagne in the Richard’s Rooftop lounge or watching the sunset from the top deck, the entire ship felt like a floating sanctuary for grown-ups.

The dining alone deserves its own post — but highlights included Extra Virgin (their elevated Italian spot), Pink Agave for modern Mexican, and The Wake, a stunning, moody steak and seafood restaurant where the ambiance was just as delicious as the food. And unlike traditional cruises, there are no buffets and no assigned seating — just amazing restaurants you’d actually go to on land.

Entertainment onboard was unexpected and refreshing. Think immersive performances, sultry cabaret, and late-night pop-up shows that break every cruise stereotype. It was spontaneous, fresh, and fun — without ever feeling cheesy or dated.

We made four unforgettable stops along the Mediterranean:
Marseille, Cannes, Mallorca, and Ibiza.
Each port had its own charm, but Mallorca truly stood out for me — a stunning mix of natural beauty, local culture, and picture-perfect streets that felt like a dream to explore.

I’ll be honest: I’ve cruised once before and… let’s just say it didn’t go well (no names, but I left unconvinced). Virgin Voyages changed everything. Their approach to cruising is modern, design-forward, inclusive, and effortlessly cool.

And now? I’m already counting down the days to my next Virgin Voyages adventure this September — their inaugural sailing from NYC to Bermuda. If this last trip was any indication, I’m in for another unforgettable experience.
